Born in 1964, Anders Lundin is an accomplished financial expert with over 30 years of experience in finance and economics. After earning a Bachelor of Economics from Uppsala University, Anders went on to work with industry leaders like GE Healthcare, Autoliv, and the mobile operator Three. For the last 10 years, he has specialized as an interim CFO and investor relations expert for listed companies, including Oasmia Pharmaceutical AB, Medivir AB, Sandvik Coromant AB, and Q-linea AB. Anders is also the founder of CFO Akuten AB, a company focused on providing financial expertise. He is an influential figure in the finance world but currently holds no shares or options in EMPE Diagnostics .

Olle Wahlqvist

Electronics Engineer & Impact Investor

Olle is an experienced Electronics Engineer who transitioned into an impactful career as an Investor. With a strong background in project management and company leadership, Olle has honed his skills over the years in managing businesses and driving growth. His journey culminated in the realm of Impact Investing, where he has become a key figure. He is currently the largest investor and shareholder of EMPE Diagnostics through AB ILITY AB, demonstrating his commitment to advancing healthcare through innovative solutions.

Prof. Mikael Kubista

Professor & Molecular Diagnostics Pioneer

Mikael Kubista is a professor and head of the Laboratory of Gene Expression at the Institute of Biotechnology at the Czech Academy of Sciences. An early adopter of quantitative PCR (qPCR), Mikael founded MultiD Analysis and TATAA Biocenter, both of which specialize in molecular analysis. In 2014, he established Life Genomics, a leading molecular diagnostics laboratory, followed by SimSen Diagnostics in 2021, which focuses on developing ultrasensitive sequencing methods. Mikael holds around 40 patents, including the invention of Two-Tailed PCR, and has been recognized with the Frost & Sullivan Award for Customer Value Leadership. Since 2023, he has been a member of the Molecular Innovators at GoCo Health Innovation City in Gothenburg.

Prof. Mats Nilsson

Professor of Biochemistry, Stockholm University & Spatial Biology Innovator

Dr. Mats Nilsson is a professor of Biochemistry at Stockholm University and Director of the Spatial Biology Platform at SciLifeLab in Stockholm and Uppsala. As a member of the EMBO and an associated faculty at the Wellcome Sanger Institute in the UK, Prof. Nilsson leads cutting-edge research in molecular diagnostics and the development of molecular analysis tools. His pioneering work in padlock probe and Rolling Circle Amplification (RCA) technologies has paved the way for numerous companies and spinouts, including Olink, Q-linea, EMPE Diagnostics, and Cartana. With a legacy of innovation, Prof. Nilsson is the second-largest shareholder of EMPE Diagnostics .

Fredrik Orre

Chief financial Officer

Fredrik Orre is a finance professional with over 15 years of leadership experience across multinational companies like Scania and AstraZeneca, as well as NGOs and start-ups. His recent role as Head of Financial Control for Scania’s Industrial Operations saw him oversee 38,000 employees and over 100 entities spanning R&D, production, logistics, sales, and marketing. Fredrik is an expert in strategic planning, financial modeling, and business case development. Passionate about sustainability, he is committed to advancing the sustainability transformation and achieving the goals set by Agenda 2030.

Jan Buch Andersen

Chief Executive Officer

Jan is a seasoned entrepreneur with extensive experience in the biotech and diagnostics sectors. Over the years, he has been involved with several start-ups and established companies, including Invitrogen, Roche Diagnostics, and the publicly listed ArcticZymes. He has founded or co-founded approximately 10 different companies in the biotech/diagnostic field, gaining global experience by living and working in Denmark, India, Norway, and Sweden. Jan’s expertise extends to leading turn-around processes in companies that require a fresh start and renewed strategies.

Gayathri Ramasubban, PhD

VP of Clinical Affairs

Gayathri has a Ph.D. in microbiology and holds the responsibility for clinical affairs at EMPE. Gayathri has more than 20 years of experience with molecular diagnosis of tuberculosis and antibiotics resistance.

Dev Chandran, PhD

VP of Operations

Dev has a Ph.D. in biochemistry and has the responsibility for the Operations of EMPE and is also the Global Project Manager. Dev holds close to 30 years of experience in the Biologics industry with a portfolio of driving products from R&D to market launch.

Poonam Singh, PhD

VP of Innovation and R&D

Poonam is a Life Sciences professional with a PhD from Germany and Master’s from India. She has over six years of experience developing diagnostic tests for tuberculosis and associated antibiotic resistance. She currently is responsible for Innovation and Research and Development at EMPE Diagnostics. Her work focuses on translating scientific innovation into scalable, market-ready diagnostic solutions through strong cross-functional collaboration.

Walter Rangel Campos

VP of Business Development

Walter is an experienced commercial leader and entrepreneur with nearly 20 years of expertise driving international business development, strategic execution, global partnership management, and market expansion within the IVD and life sciences sectors. He spent nearly 15 years dedicated to the global health space, focusing on market penetration and the scaling of HIV therapy monitoring tools. Having founded 5 companies across 3 countries, he combines a robust entrepreneurial drive with deep technical acumen backed by a PhD in virology and an MBA.
